2020 Begins with a Snow Day

A few days ago, I made my first photography trip of 2020, to Saint Edward State Park in Kenmore. This was while we were still in the grip of our recent snowy spell. While driving was difficult, the frozen ground and snow made the trails easier to walk than they often are this time of year, as the mud can become rather troublesome. I don't often venture out on photography tips when the snow gets all the way to the Seattle area, but I am glad I did in this case.

First, a view up a creek ravine, with cedar branches framing the foreground. F/16.

Next, a view of the woods framed by snowy branches. This composition is a bit busy, but I like how the brown of the trunks and branches stands out. F/18.

Happy 2020!
